Here’s Holly. She turned out to be sort of a rowdy cowgirl type. She also has a mink coat I knitted from brown fake-fur yarn.
So I didn’t get the dolls made that summer, either.
Then my school changed a lot, and the focus no longer seemed to be on nurturing the child’s spirit but on preparing three- and four-year-olds to take standardized tests by first grade.
